uttaratra vakṣyāmaḥ | yad anyad avasiṣṭam upakramajātaṃ tad atra

tatra ṣaḍvidhaḥ prādiṣṭaḥ śophastasyaikādaśopakramā bhavanti |
apatarppaṇādayo virecanāntāḥ | viśeṣeṇa vraṇapratīkāre varttante
vraṇabhāvam upagatasya na virudhyante śeṣās tu prāyeṇa
vraṇapratīkārahetava eva |
apatarppaṇa ādya upakrama eṣa sarvvaśophānāṃ sāmānyataḥ
pradhānatamaś ca || bha ||
doṣocchrāyopaśāntyarthan doṣānaddhasya dehinaḥ |
avekṣya doṣaṃ prāṇañ ca kāryaṃ syād apatarppaṇaṃ ||
tad dhi mārutakṣuttṛṣṇā mukhaśoṣasramānvite |
kāryaṃ na bālavṛddhe vā na garbbhiṇyāṃ na durvvale ||
śopheṣūtthitamātreṣu vraṇeṣūgrarujeṣu ca |
yathoktair auṣadhair llepaṃ pratyekāṃśyena kārayet ||
yathā prajvalite veśmany ambhasā pariṣecanaṃ |
kṣipraṃ praśamayaty agnim evam ālepanaṃ rujaḥ ||
prahlādane śodhane ca śophasya haraṇe tathā |
utsādane ropane ca lepaḥ syāt tu tadarthakṛt ||

abhyaṅgas tu doṣam ālocyopayukto doṣopaśamo mṛdutāṃ ca karoti

paś cāt karmmasu cādiṣṭaḥ sa tu visrāvaṇādiṣu ||
rujāvatān dāruṇānāṅ kaṭhinānān tathaiva ca |
śophānāṃ svedanaṃ kāryaṃ ye cāpyevamvidhā vraṇāḥ ||
sthirāṇāṃ rujatām mandaṃ kāryaṃ vimlāpanam bhavet |
abhyajya svedayitvā ca veṇunāḍyā tataḥ śanaiḥ ||
vimarddayed bhiṣak prājñastalenāṅguṣṭhakena vā |
śophayor upanāhan tu kuryād āmavidagdhayoḥ ||
praśāmyaty avidagdhas tu vidagdhaḥ pākameti ca |
nivarttate na yaḥ śopho virekāntair upakramaiḥ ||
tatra saṃpācanadravyāṇy āhṛtyoktāni pivya ca |
dadhitakrasurāśuktadhānyāmlair yojayed bhiṣak ||
snigdhāni lavaṇī kṛtvā paced utkārikān tataḥ |
sairaṇḍapatrayā śophan nāhayed uṣṇayā tayā ||
hitaṃ saṃbhojanañcāpi pākāya vimukho yadi |
vedanopaśamārthāya tathā pākabhayāya ca ||
acirotpatite śophe kuryāc choṇitamokṣaṇaṃ |
saśophe kaṭhine dhyāme sarakte vedanāvati ||
saṃravdhe viṣame cāpi vraṇe viśrāvaṇaṃ hitaṃ |
sopadravādravāṇāṃ rūkṣāṇāṅkṛśānāṃ vraṇaśoṣiṇāṃ ||

tatra kāryaṃ yathoddiṣṭairddravyair vvaidyena jānatā |
avedanānāṃ śuddhānāṃ gambhīrāṇāntathaiva ca ||
hitāḥ saṃropaṇāvarttya vatyaṅgairopaṇaiḥ kṛtāḥ |
apetapūtimāṃsānāṃ māṃsasthānāmarohatāṃ ||
kalkasturopaṇaḥ kāryastilajo madhusaṃyutaḥ |
sa mādhuryāttathaivoṣṇyātsnehāccānilanāśanaḥ ||
kaṣāyabhāvātmādhuryāttiktatvāc cāpi pittahā |
auṣṇyātkaṣāyabhāvāc ca tiktatvāc ca kaphe hitaḥ ||
śodhayed ropayec cāpi yuktaḥ śodhanaropaṇaiḥ |
nimvapatramadhubhyāntu yuktaḥ saṃśodhanaḥ smṛtaḥ ||
pūrvvābhyāṃ sarppiṣā cāpi yuktaś cāpyuparopaṇe |
tilavadyavakalkan tu kecid āhur mmanīṣiṇaḥ ||

kṣurakarttari sandaṃśais tasya lomāni nirharet ||
śaṃkhacūrṇṇañ ca bhāgauṣṭau haritālaṃ ca bhāgikaṃ |
śuktena saha piṣṭan tu romaśātanam uttamaṃ ||
tailaṃ bhallātakasyātha snuhīkṣīrantathaiva ca |
vimṛdyaikatra dātavyaṃ romaśātanam uttamaṃ ||
vātaduṣṭo vraṇo yastu rūkṣasyātyarthavedanaḥ |

for grammar and sense. The syntax of witness H does not
have grammatical concord.

aṇutailaṃ | We emend -danta- in witness H to
datta since this is
the reading of the parallel passage in the Aṣṭāṅgasaṅgraha (cikitsāsthāna
23.18). But the meaning of the compound remains

present passive participle anavaśīryamāṇa appears to be a hapax
legomenon in Ayurvedic literature and rare everywhere (two
occurrences in Bāṇa). However, the related term aviśīryamāṇa occurs in the
Carakasaṃhitā (3.8.122) and viśīryamāṇa in the
Aṣṭāṅgahṛdayasaṃhitā (2.5.98, 6.37.12)
and elsewhere. An emendation to °arocakair aviśīryamāṇaṃ might produce a
more plausible text.
